Hey so this might be our last blog post before our 108k. Can you believe that we have surpassed our fundraising goal of $1,000 thanks to your generosity.  We have changed our goal to $2,500, and we are only $250 dollars short. If you haven't already please share our blog and our mission to your friends and family so we can can reach our new goal. As for training, we haven't done many bike rides lately, however while in Larry’s River visiting our Gma and Gpa, we’ve been doing so much cross training.  For example, we kayaked all around Farm Lake with our dad, running from house to house with our cousins while taking snack breaks with gma’s famous cinnamon rolls  and jumping off uncle jude’s dock. And especially the sacred art of sitting on the couch and relaxing.

Getting it Done!!! 20km Ride (AKA Things my kids had to do if they wanted to play Video Games) Hi Everyone! Sam and Justin's Dad here. Deborah (more commonly known as "Mom") was out of town last weekend, and somewhere amidst trips to the Candy Store, Video Games, and Marvel Movie Marathons, it became apparent that for the sake of everyone's sanity, some outdoor energy had to be expended! The boys and I decided to try some new territory, so we drove out to the Bike and Bean (where we had stopped on our last ride) and started from there. The first 7km were the fastest I've even seen the boys ride (likely due to the massive Candy Store purchase earlier in the weekend. Thanks, Freak Lunch Box!).  After that, the boys got into a rousing debate over MineCraft defensive strategies, which slowed them down significantly, but which passed the time and even taught me a few things I never learned in Military College. We stopped for snacks at the 10KM point (usually the boys

The Mission : To ride from Halifax to Mahone Bay, 110km, in one day, raising money for the fight against Cancer.  One goal, Two 10 year olds, and a whole lot of dedication. To Donate :  https://greatcyclechallenge.ca/Riders/SamJustinDolan/b Last Week, we decided to take our training rides to a whole new level. We wanted to go a bit farther, and a bit faster, and we really wanted donuts (and my dad wanted a coffee) so we decided to ride all the way to the Bike and Bean!! We started on the BLT Trail, right beside a factory where they make Coca - Cola. The trail here is very cool, nice and wide with trees all around. At the beginning, there were a ton of people everywhere, so we had to ride single file a lot. But after halfway, it really opened up and we could ride beside each other, tell jokes and talk a lot. We took a few brakes (see what I did there? Bike Brakes!!!) and had

CYCLING ON THE SALT MARSHES - A Cold, Chilly Training Day !!! -  The Mission : To ride from Halifax to Mahone Bay, 110km, in one day, raising money for the fight against Cancer.  One goal, Two 10 year olds, and a whole lot of dedication. To Donate :  https://greatcyclechallenge.ca/Riders/SamJustinDolan/b On our 2nd long bike ride, we went with our friends down to the Salt Marsh Trail, near LawrenceTown. It was really cold and windy because my family and I were just in shorts and a T-shirt!  Luckily we made it to all these cool places like we stopped at a stream and took a snack break, ( baby carrots and snap peas, for me not the best treat but hey, gotta stay healthy, am I right?) After we ate our snacks, my mom and I went to look at the stream across the trail. It was really cool just sitting there and watching the water bubbling up as it snaked through  the rocks intercepting the stream.  When we got back on our wheels, we headed off with my friend and his dad ahead of me and my mom,

It was a post for the Great Cycle Challenge to raise money in the help to fight kid’s cancer and right away, Sam thought that was a great idea! And this is how we came up with the idea to cycle from Halifax to Mahone Bay.   We started out on a sunny Saturday afternoon, water and snacks in Dad’s carry bag, just going for a family bike ride - no distance in mind, no goal, just simply enjoying the trail on a hot da
