Getting it Done!! 20KM Ride

 Getting it Done!!! 20km Ride

(AKA Things my kids had to do if they wanted to play Video Games)

Hi Everyone! Sam and Justin's Dad here. Deborah (more commonly known as "Mom") was out of town last weekend, and somewhere amidst trips to the Candy Store, Video Games, and Marvel Movie Marathons, it became apparent that for the sake of everyone's sanity, some outdoor energy had to be expended!

The boys and I decided to try some new territory, so we drove out to the Bike and Bean (where we had stopped on our last ride) and started from there. The first 7km were the fastest I've even seen the boys ride (likely due to the massive Candy Store purchase earlier in the weekend. Thanks, Freak Lunch Box!).

After that, the boys got into a rousing debate over MineCraft defensive strategies, which slowed them down significantly, but which passed the time and even taught me a few things I never learned in Military College.

We stopped for snacks at the 10KM point (usually the boys favourite part) where they were quite

disappointed to learn that I had only packed protein bars and water, a combination that was deemed "Old Man Food." I promised to make up for it with Ice Creams at the Bike and Bean... but first they had to make it back there!

Properly motivated, the two mini road warriors hit the trail at a mighty pace, and we all had a great training ride.

Thanks everyone!
